Youth Programs & Services
The Coulee Chordsmen participate in the Land O Lakes Youth in Harmony Festival Chorus program for high school boys. The festivals are held on a Saturday in the area and students rehearse songs with other students. The festival provides an opportunity for young singers to learn about and experience barbershop harmony. The goals and objectives for the festival are:
- To assist the teacher in the performance of male choral singing, including barbershop and other tenor, lead, baritone, and bass music
- To provide the students an educational and performance opportunity
- To create a performing ensemble for the community
- To establish a positive working relationship between the chapter and the music teachers in the community
Locally, the Coulee Chordsmen can provide quartets to coach and teach high school quartets. The chapter can also assist in the acquisition of barbershop music arrangements for high school music programs. Eric Sorenson, co-director of the Coulee Chordsmen, coordinates this program.
