Become a Member of the Coulee Chordsmen

Join Us in Keeping the Whole World Singing

There is always room for one more singer in the chorus.

The Coulee Chordsmen conduct an open house-audition program for men who like to sing every month. You and your friends are invited to attend one of these sessions to experience the harmony and fellowship of the chorus.

For additional information, call 608-394-8324

Requirements

If you like to sing, we encourage you to consider joining the Chordsmen. If you can sing a melody in tune, you are qualified to sing with the chorus. There are four parts to barbershop harmony—tenor, lead (melody), bass, and baritone. You will be placed in a section related to your voice range.

Your first step in becoming a member is to attend a rehearsal and experience the harmony of the music and structure of the rehearsals. We require a future member to attend three consecutive rehearsals before requesting an application. The application provides information used for mailings and communications.

Fellowship and Family

The chapter has over 50 members as of 2019. Some commute 30 miles to rehearsals and performances for the enjoyment of being a Chordsmen. Afterglows follow each rehearsal and performance, and they include food, drinks, and more singing.

We have two family events during the year: our summer picnic and our Annual Awards and Installation Banquet in December. Following our annual shows and summer concerts, members, family, and friends attend afterglow events held in local restaurants.
